FroYo (empasis on the Yogurt)

I’ve recently discovered and come to love a new food trend: Frozen Yogurt.  Now, I know you’re thinking of the stuff you’re used to that is basically diet ice cream.  This is different: this is amazing.  It is literally yogurt which has been frozen.  It still has the yogurt tang.  Delicious!  Here are two places where you can try some:

Tangy Sweet (http://www.tangysweet.com/) in Dupont Circle, Washington DC.
Has more flavors and toppings.  The Green Tea flavor is awesome!

SweetGreen (http://www.sweetgreen.com/Home.html) on M Street, Georgetown, Washington DC.
Has wonderfully tasty salads, as well!

Even Columbus, OH has gotten in on the game, with Red Mango!

Know of any other places to get some?  Share with us!

Enjoy!

PS: A great place to get a really good frozen yoghurt in London is at Muffinski’s, which is in 5 King Street, quite near Covent Garden. You can get a whole range of fruity flavours, including raspberry (delicious!), strawberry, blackberry, banana and, as far as I can remember, mango. The muffins are really nice too!

  2. Hello,

I just came across this blog and it’s brilliant!
Regarding a post you made ages ago on russian food. Does that Russian grocery store still exist in Baywswater??? I wish to purchase some Russian food although i haven’t managed to find any stores which do. Can you suggest any more?

BTW i always go to Bayswater to shop for food but I have never noticed the Russian grocery store. Where abouts is it?

    Thanks! 🙂

  3. I’ve been out of London for a while, but it was there this spring. It’s on the West-side of the street, a bit North of the Queen’s Ice Bowl. It’s just a little shop, easy to miss if you aren’t paying attention. The sign hangs over the street and says Калинка, I believe in red. I didn’t find any other Russian stores in central London; there were some way out in the suburbs, and I drove past one way down Old Kent Road, but it looked boarded-up… Good luck finding something!

  4. Hi again!

Thanks for responding! I visited the Russian store yesterday though it is rather small. I brought some Russian snacks and chocolates 🙂 which i have not had since the last time i visted moscow (years ago!).

Anyway it is certainly a lovely small shop and the man on the til was friendly and helpful as well.
Oh and Bayswater is always a brilliant place to shop for food it has 2 new very large oriental stores as well as the organic food store and persian ones too 🙂

Thanks for sharing it with others!
